With great enthusiasm and determination, despite the current conditions of the pandemic, our founder Johnattan Baez scheduled flights and a room to stay in Clermont-Ferrand this past week. The trip would guarantee not missing the chance of being part of the biggest short film festival and market, happening every year in Clermont-Ferrand.
There were mixed feelings about how things would progress in this hybrid edition, however, in the practice, there was little to be disappointed about. The event counted with a significant presence of industry professionals, festival representatives, distributors and the general audience. The support of the city and region to the festival seems to remain unshaken.
As we continue to advance with the general plans of Cinergetik, it’s extremely important for us to embrace, support and in general, be an active entity within the short film industry. It filled us with joy and extra motivation to experience the Clermont-Ferrand Festival and Short Film Market on location this year, and to perceive an industry that rather than thinking about decline, it’s in continuous expansion.
Some key events where Cinergetik was present were the Euro Connection Forum, The Baltic Shorts Panel, B2B meetings with distributors and festivals, among others.
